snow had fallen, snow on snow...

to date, we've only had a dusting, a sure sign that the bleak mid-winter isn't that far away.

here's to light therapy visors!

Absolutely not a sign of snow in southern England - the trees still have most of their leaves and its November for heaven's sake!

neg 40 deg F (and C) in my part of the world this morning

but it did warm up to a balmy neg 25 deg F with the blazing noonday sun on the horizon

in the winter the temps can vary around here by as much as 20 or 30 degrees F for every 10 or 20 miles...we just happened to get the deep freeze this time around...it was only a couple of weeks ago that the temp was consistently (and unseasonably) above freezing...the sinister benefits of global warming!

Really nice pics, Ian. I specially like the sunflower. You have a good eye (and probably ear since you're here) for composition.

Aww Ian, I am sorry. Today temps in the 70's(fahrenheit, of course) and I took the kids for a walk in shorts and a very light sweater...
